  1. LAKE MARY, FLORIDA -- Maynard Electronics, Inc., an Archive company, today
  2. announced an aggressive MaynStream software promotion that represents a
  3. potential costs savings to customers of up to $2500.

  5. Under the "Get More MaynStream Software For Your Money" program, customers
  6. who purchase any MaynStream SCSI-based system between now and March 31,
  7. 1992, will be able to select a copy of either the MaynStream NLM or
  8. MaynStream for Windows software products in addition to MaynStream for DOS
  9. software, the software package normally included with the system.
  10. MaynStream for Windows and MaynStream NLM software products will be
  11. available for shipment this Spring. MaynStream Version 3.1 software for
  12. DOS is currently shipping.

  14. "We expect the 'Get More MaynStream Software For Your Money' promotion to
  15. generate a great deal of excitement in the channel," said Don Flanagan,
  16. Maynard's vice president of domestic sales. "We are enabling our resellers
  17. to offer a tremendous incentive to their customers to purchase MaynStream
  18. systems. For the length of the promotion, when users buy a MaynStream
  19. system we will provide them with a selection of additional software ideal
  20. for mixed operating environments, at no additional cost."

  22. Systems included in the promotion are the MaynStream 600CS cassette system,
  23. MaynStream 525Q quarter-inch system, MaynStream 2000 DAT system,
  24. MaynStream 2200HS+ and MaynStream 5000HS 8mm systems. In addition,
  25. customers who purchase MaynStream QIC-02 systems (MaynStream 60CS,
  26. MaynStream 150CS, MaynStream 60Q and MaynStream 250Q systems) between now
  27. and March 31, 1992 will receive a free copy of MaynStream for Windows
  28. software. Users can receive their free software by returning the coupon
  29. included with the system purchase to Maynard.

  31. MaynStream NLM software is a fully integrated NetWare 386 fileserver-based
  32. data management solution. Selected as the winner of "Editor's Choice" by
  33. Computer Technology Review, MaynStream NLM software is ideal for network
  34. environments. MaynStream NLM software will perform backup operations for
  35. all Novell servers and DOS-workstations operating on a Novell internet
  36. without the use of additional software. The network administrator can
  37. control all network data management operations from either a workstation
  38. or the fileserver. The network administrator can develop a script or
  39. scripts to schedule backup operations after working hours, while network
  40. traffic is low for totally automated network data protection.

  42. The MaynStream for Windows product, designed for use with Microsoft Windows
  43. products, is ideal for use with both individual PC and network users.
  44. Through the use of Microsoft Windows' graphical user interface, backup
  45. operations for local drives, servers and remote workstations, are
  46. accomplished with a simple click of a mouse. MaynStream for Windows
  47. software follows the interface used in Microsoft Windows applications so
  48. that users will immediately find the system familiar. Some of these
  49. features include an icon button bar for quick access to commonly used
  50. functions and a graphical hierarchical directory tree for quick navigation
  51. through disk drives for quick selection of backup or restore files.

  53. In order to ensure compatibility within the product line, all tapes created
  54. using either MaynStream NLM or MaynStream for Windows software can be read
  55. by MaynStream for DOS, MaynStream for OS/2, MaynStream for Windows,
  56. MaynStream NLM, MaxStream for Macintosh computers and LANStream products.
  57. In addition, both MaynStream NLM and MaynStream for Windows software can
  58. read tapes created by MaynStream for DOS, MaynStream for OS/2, MaynStream
  59. for Windows, MaynStream NLM, MaxStream and LANStream products. This
  60. compatibility provides a simple and convenient way to move files between
  61. different operating systems, while allowing the backup system to evolve
  62. along with the network.

  77. Irwin's operations into two divisions to serve the OEM and distribution
  78. markets. As a result of this reorganization, Archive has combined Irwin's
  79. distribution organization with Maynard's organization and will transfer a
  80. portion of Irwin's administrative and support activities to Maynard in
  81. Lake Mary, Florida.

  85. a 'Maynard Everywhere' backup solution across all backup technologies,

  88. offerings designed and priced for both the high-end and the entry-levels

  91. The reorganization was made as part of an overall realignment of Archive
  92. into market-dedicated organizations to reduce operating costs and expenses
  93. and to more closely focus the Company's efforts on its OEM and
  94. distribution businesses.

  97. offer the broadest product line in the tape backup market, the best
  98. trained and most experienced support staff in the industry and the most
  99. extensive network of resellers. This will allow Maynard to take advantage
